Build A Garment - Top, Tunic or Dress

Join Lucy on this full weekend workshop, ran from Just Sew, Penrith and sew yourself either a top, tunic or dress! 

On this workshop you get the chance to sew a beautifully draped woven garment with a relaxed pull on fit. Featuring a graceful split neckline, multiple sleeve options and the choice of length from top, tunic or dress. 

This workshop offers a stylish, versatile make for sewists looking to elevate their skills and wardrobe.  

You'll learn lots of techniques on this workshop including;

• Sewing a faced split neckline
• Working with light to medium weight fabrics
• Constructing different sleeve options
• Adding in optional in-seam pockets (for tunic/dress length)
• Understanding cup sizes to achieve the perfect fit
• Creating a clean pull on garment with no fiddly zips!

Size range for this workshop is 00 - 40 (bust 30" - 63", waist 25" - 54" and hips 33" - 62")

You do need to have some sewing machine experience for this course and have sewn some basic dressing making garments.

What's provided

• Sewing Craft Room environment at Just Sew, Penrith, CA11 7HJ
• Tea, coffee and refreshments throughout the workshop 
  
• Paper pattern and instruction booklet
  

What you will need to bring with you

• Main fabric
  • Fabric suggestions: Light to medium weight woven fabrics such as; rayon/viscose, chambray, linen, lightweight flannel, babycord/needlecord
  • (NOTE that for the 3/4 Sleeve with button tab shows the wrong side of the fabric, so consider this when purchasing your fabric)
• Fusible Interfacing 
• Matching Thread
• For the Inseam Pockets - 70cm of 12.5mm (0.5") wide stay tape fusible interfacing
  • This can be pre-bought or made from your own interfacing
• For the 3/4 sleeve with button tab - 2x 12mm (1/2") buttons
• Sewing Machine and Sewing Kit (don't forget your paper scissors!)
  • If preferred, for an additional £5.00 you can hire one of our sewing machines. Please notify us before the workshop if you would like to hire a machine.

Full fabric quantities will be given on booking confirmation as the required amount varies on the size you wish to sew.  

The pattern used for this workshop is the Vikos Top & Dress pattern from Itch to Stitch.
