Sew A Magic Pouch
Join Lucy on this day workshop, ran from Just Sew, Penrith and sew yourself a magic pouch!
What's so magical, about this pouch? Well, when zipped closed it looks like a regular rectangular pouch, but upon opening you see the magic unfold and it lies completely open like a tray. Perfect to see what you need – no more rummaging around to find things! These are versatile pouches, not only for you, but are perfect to give as a gift! They are great for storing your sewing kit, art equipment, stationary, make up – the options are endless
You will master lots of new skills when making this pouch, including handling different interfacings and sewing in zips.
The finished size of the pouch will measure approximately 25cm x 12.5cm x 12.5cm when closed.
You do need to have some basic sewing machine experience for this course.

What you will need to bring with you
- 65cm (minimum fabric width of 115cm) Outer fabric
- Fabric suggestions: Patchwork Cotton, Cotton Canvas, Denim
- 65cm (minimum fabric width of 115cm) Lining fabric
- Fabric Suggestions: Quilting Cotton, Cotton Poplin
- 70cm zip with 2x zip heads
- 60cm of 4cm wide bias binding
- 65cm Fusible Fleece (we recommend either Vlieseline H630 or H640)
- 65cm Fusible Cotton Woven Interfacing (we recommend a light to medium weight)
- Matching Thread
- Sewing Machine and Sewing Kit (don't forget your paper scissors!)
- If preferred, for an additional £5.00 you can hire one of our sewing machines. Please notify us before the workshop if you would like to hire a machine.
- Don't forget your zipper foot!
