Learn How To Add Pintucks To Your Pattern

Join Lucy on this day workshop, ran from Just Sew, Penrith and learn how to adapt your own patterns to add some delicate pintuck detailing. 

This workshop is all about learning how to incorporate pintucks into a pattern of your choice, transforming a simple top into something a little more special. You'll learn how to adapt your own pattern to allow for the pintucks, how to accurately mark, cut and sew them, before moving on to construct your top.

Please note that a pattern is not provided for this workshop, so you'll need to bring your own suitable top pattern (we've provided some examples below). It's a great opportunity to learn a new technique, get creative with your existing pattern collection and discover how you can breathe new life into patterns you already have in your stash, creating something fresh and unique!

You do need to have some sewing machine experience for this course as well as some basic dressmaking experience.

What's provided

• Sewing Craft Room environment at Just Sew, Penrith, CA11 7HJ

What you will need to bring with you

• Your OWN Pattern that you want to add pintucks too.
  • We strongly recommend a simple shell style top that you have already sewn before. Pattern styles include those similar to Tilly and the Buttons Stevie or Leah, Helen's Closet Ashton Top, Closet Core Cielo Top.  
    
  • If you are unsure if your pattern is suitable, then just drop Lucy an email. 
• Fabric and Notions that are listed in your pattern choice
• Pattern paper, pencil, ruler and tape
  
  • The essentials for modifying your pattern! 
• Sewing Machine and Sewing Kit (don't forget your paper scissors!)
  • If preferred, for an additional £5.00 you can hire one of our sewing machines. Please notify us before the workshop if you would like to hire a machine.
